Squid Game promo was part of Netflix’s outdoor campaign in which the soldiers from the film invaded the city.

During that campaign, I directed this promo, which is technically a hybrid of real-life footage and staged production.

Within the story, everything was intended to feel completely authentic. To achieve this, some scenes were performed by actors, while others were captured using hidden-direction, candid-camera techniques with genuine public reactions.

This series of two TVCs was conceived as a flash mob. While it’s clear that the realism isn’t meant to feel

100% literal (the project was intentionally idealized, with a slightly fairy-tale quality)

the feeling of “What the funny just happened?” was essential for the client.

We captured that emotion through the secondary character (the OTHER partner), who is constantly caught off guard by the unexpected actions of the other partner.

This production was a genuine candid-camera project

It was created as part of an awareness campaign about scams.

We invited real parent-child pairs to participate,

with the children helping me (as the director and the on-camera host) to stage convincing scam scenarios, and see whether their parents would fall for them.

The reactions were entirely genuine,

making authenticity the core of the project.

This production is another kind on the hybrid candid-camera format.

A host visited several well-known music artists in their own homes.

The artists knew they were filming a campaign for Dove, but they had no idea how ruthless

the jokes were about to become.

What they expected to be a casual interview quickly evolved, in real time,

into a completely unexpected roast. Every twist unfolded naturally during the shoot,

allowing us to capture their genuine reactions as they slowly realized what was really happening.

This documentary revolves entirely around self-proclaimed “get-rich-quick” gurus

who sell courses promising financial success. We lured them into what they believed

was a legitimate documentary, asking them how they made their money

and what their lifestyle was really like (without revealing that the project was actually

produced by FAIĂR, a Twitch streamer whom many of them feared and openly criticized)

The timecoded section I’ve attached shows a segment in which FAIĂR and PETE (both streamers)

go out into the street and approach random people, offering them money in exchange for delivering scripted, scam-like testimonials. The purpose of the experiment was to demonstrate just how easily a seemingly “genuine” endorsement can be fabricated (that testimonials used by real scammers can be staged, bought, and manipulated with very little effort)
